Singleton Poultry Education Day 2020
On Tuesday the 23rd of June, members of Singleton Poultry Club worked with the Singleton Beef & Land Management Group and Glencore to produce an educational presentation for use with local students. Amongst the topics covered were ‘What breed of chicken to keep’, ‘Housing’ and ‘Feeding’. Members displayed a variety of breeds including large and Bantam Leghorns, Double Laced Barnevelders, Black Tailed White Japanese, Australian Langshan bantams, Ancona, Dorking, Faverolles and Sussex. As well, a comprehensive assortment of hen house equipment including automatic feeders, watering equipment and nest-boxes was displayed, together with samples of a range of different feed types.
